Born in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Steven has always been captivated by art. After earning his Bachelors in Fine Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University he began his career as a freelance illustrator. He has since worked with numerous clients from the Boy Scouts of America, Highlights for Children, the Columbus Marathon and the National Cherry Blossom Festival. In that time span he also illustrated three children’s books.

Only a few years after graduation, Steven was asked to teach on a part time basis at his Alma mater. Shortly after teaching for a few semesters Steven decided to pursue his masters degree at Marywood University.

Shortly after earning his MFA, Steven began focusing his efforts towards fine art.  After a string of small shows at coffee shops and libraries his focus turned to gallery exhibition. Since his venture into gallery life, his landscapes have been very well received by collectors. His paintings have earned him recognition in several juried competitions such as the Richeson 75 competition. In 2008 the start of his statewide traveling exhibition began at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition will be a part of the museum’s statewide exhibitions through 2011. In 2009 Steven was privileged to be a part of a western art exhibition , titled The Black West, at the Booth Western Art Museum

Steven currently resides in Westerville, OH where he continues to paint in his studio.  He is represented by Art Access Gallery in Bexley, OH and Glave Kocen Gallery in Richmond, VA.
