Leonard Piha

Leonard Piha, a Georgia-based artist, earned his BFA from Western Washington University and his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art.  Since 1995, he has been an elementary school art teacher.  His lifelong passion has been to make art.  By choice, he spent many years as a carpenter because building things is a necessity for him.  He prefers to build his canvases with cast-off pieces of wood or to use rusted tin as a surface of choice.  He and his wife built their house, studio, and gallery.  He has filled up the yard and all interiors with his artwork.
