About Robin Kenny

Robin Venable Kenny was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.  After receiving her BA in Art from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, she moved to Tallahassee, Florida to earn her MFA from Florida State University.

While in graduate school at FSU she exhibited her work in many different shows locally and across the country.  She also taught several drawing classes to further develop her teaching skills.  It was here that she began to create circular mixed media works that incorporated biblical narrative and personal spiritual journeys.

Since graduating from Florida State University in 2009 she has worked in various galleries in Nashville and Chattanooga while continuing to exhibit nationally and locally.  The mixed media works began to take on new levels of creativity as she began to collect more imagery from old books, internet searches, clothing catalogues and stencils. She currently lives in Chattanooga with her husband and uses her life with him as well as her own spiritual journey as inspiration for her current work.
